Introduction To CBD
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of about 120 known phytocannabinoids and is predominant in Cannabis sativa L. hemp varieties, comprising between 15-70% of the plant’s raw extract. One of the most common non-psychoactive cannabinoids in the cannabis plant, CBD occurs in the largest concentrations after THC and THCa.
While THC's psychoactive effects result from it binding to the CB1 receptor, it's thought that CBD has no binding affinity to either the CB1 or CB2 receptors. Instead, the benefits of CBD come from its ability to modulate ion channels in the body, along with several non-cannabinoid receptors.
In short, CBD promotes the body's use of its own cannabinoids.

CBD WHOLE PLANT BROAD SPECTRUM OIL
This oil has had no refinement. It is the first phase of extraction and the rawest form of hemp oil. It is dark in color and contains the fullest spectrum of naturally existing plant compounds such as other trace cannabinoids, waxes, lipids, amino acids, terpenes, chlorophyll, and flavonoids. It is a solid paste-like consistency at room temperature. Whole plant could be considered the only true "full spectrum" oil. Though many use "full spectrum" to describe an oil containing other trace cannabinoids such as with distillates, a distillate does not contain all the subcomponents of a full-plant extract.
Great for manufacturing topicals, tinctures and some edibles. Will have an earthy grass-like taste.

CBD REFINED BROAD SPECTRUM OIL
Refined oil is the second phase of post-processing, in which a whole-plant extract is run through charcoal filtration to remove the dark plant matter and chlorophyll while increasing the cannabinoid concentration. It is bright orange to amber in color and still contains a broad spectrum of natural plant compounds such as other trace cannabinoids, waxes, lipids, terpenes, and flavonoids. It is a solid paste-like consistency at room temperature.
Great for manufacturing topicals, tinctures, and some edibles. Will have a heavy spicy hemp taste. Additionally, this product is a good choice in manufacturing products for consumers who are sensitive to allergens since the chlorophyll and plant matter have been removed.

CBD DISTILLATE BROAD SPECTRUM OIL
This oil has been distilled in order to create a high potency oil. Whether achieved through distillation or winterization (dewaxing), this oil has the phospholipids (fats) removed and is the last step prior to being isolated into a pure crystalline molecule. A distillate is very light and translucent in color with a very muted scent and flavor profile. Most terpenes, waxes, and other minor constituents have been removed and cannabinoid concentrations are increased. This product flows when heated but may solidify at room temperature due to its high CBD concentration. The difference between this oil and the pure distillate is that this broad-spectrum distillate is made up of multiple active cannabinoids.
Great for formulation where fats interfere with homogenization. A very clean and low flavor profile that does not need to be masked making it ideal for vape products, topicals, and edibles where the based components need to be controlled. Works well for spiking cannabinoid concentrations in other concentrates to standardize product potencies.
